Scenic Road Project

The combination of wind, salt, shade, and the occasional deer makes this oceanfront site an extremely challenging place to landscape. Tattered leaves, salt-burned margins, and defoliation are common symptoms of stress in plants growing on Carmel's most scenic road. Sand shear coming off the beach will shred most varieties, so choosing the right plant for the right place was essential for the long-term success of this landscape.
