Big Sur Middle Road
This landscape project in Big Sur was crafted using materials that reflect both durability and natural beauty. We carefully selected granite boulders from a local quarry to construct a series of dry-stack walls, pathways, stairs, and terraces. Granite was chosen for its striking color, distinctive texture, and long-lasting nature—traits that echo the enduring presence of ancient sites. Each stone was meticulously hand-chipped for a precise fit, ensuring both structural strength and aesthetic appeal. The dry-stack method, which requires no mortar, relies on the careful arrangement of stones for a stable, weathered look. The dry-stack walls were specifically designed to enhance privacy while harmonizing with the natural environment. The slight tilt of each stone contributes to a timeless aesthetic, reminiscent of ancient ruins, while providing elegance and functionality. Our expertise in granite ensures that every feature not only endures the elements but also enhances the landscape's overall harmony.
